Video: Why Don’t You Come In? (You Must Be Cold)
The second official video from Positive (2010). I noticed that a lot of people are using Youtube videos simply as a vehicle for listening to music. So this piece is not much more than that; a hopefully pleasant business card to get people to check out the site and perhaps (perchance to dream), shell out for a CD. You can check out all the videos at the fantastic new JCHarrisMusic Video Channel!
Video: Start
The official video for the single from Nice Cuts. As per usual, I haven’t done nearly enough to market Nice Cuts, but I’m particularly sad about my lack of initiative on Start (how ironic) as I think it’s one of the pieces of which I am most happy. I hope you’ll give it a listen and ‘share’ it, or ‘like’ it or whatever the phrase à la mode seems to be. I noticed that a lot of people are using Youtube videos simply as a vehicle for listening to music. So this piece is not much more than that; a [...]
Happy Thanksgiving!
08.18.2010
Here in ‘the states’, with this Thanksgiving deal, it’s easy to forget ‘the message’. Judging by the number of ‘air quotes’ I’ve already used, it’s easy to see why. At least once a week I receive some sort of low-grade ‘hate mail’ (sorry, did it again). This takes one of several forms, including:
Positive (2010) Shipping
A quick note to tell you I just received my own copies of Positive (2010). Better still, I am told that the product is now officially at the warehouse and orders are shipping out. So, if you’ve already ordered, your CD will be at your door in the next couple of days. But, if you haven’t ordered yet, because you’re the kind of guy who thinks anything that isn’t in the warehouse is ‘vaporware’? Now’s definitely the time, Mr. Skeptical! Check out Positive (2010) here.
Before/After
08.10.2010
I’ve been yammering on about the improved mixes on Positive (2010). But as they say, “the proof is in the pudding.” Now why they put the proof there, I’ll never understand. But one thing the web makes easy to do, and savvy shoppers expect, is the old ‘side by side comparison.’ And I’m marketing to a savvy bunch, right? So it seems a good marketing ploy to provide this functionality. Below is a simple ‘before and after’ with the snippets from old Positive on the left, in the role of dumpy Fred Flintstone, and Positive (2010) on the right, preening [...]
Positive: ‘Classic’ Or New Coke?
So if you’ve been keeping score, we’re taking orders on Positive (2010) and the discs should be in the warehouse, or in your hands, within the next few days. In the meantime, I want to mention three logistical details. 1. There are still about 100 copies of the original Positive. If you are a completist, or are one of those who takes pleasure in getting ‘a steal’, even if it means the odd button is missing or the paint is just a bit faded, well then, have we got a deal for you!
Apologia: Running Order/Positive 2010
I’m wondering today when the Latin/Greek apologia As I survey the rack and ruin of yesterday’s election, I am struck by many speeches trying to toe the line between both forms of ‘apology’. How to say ‘I accept responsibility’ while at the same time defending the path one has chosen. Today’s ‘apology’, in the classic sense, has to do with the running order of Positive 2010. It differs from the original. Which is a sell-out; a total artistic cave, and here’s why I done it, Ma. It was for the good of the country. Or rather for the good of [...]
